The Asan Admiral Yi Sun-sin Festival, held annually around Admiral Yi Sun-sin's birthday, aims to revive his patriotic spirit and filial piety. The Asan Admiral Yi Sun-sin Festival honors the spirit of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, a renowned national hero, and offers a variety of programs to learn about his life's journey. First held in 1961 under the Onyang Cultural Festival name, the festival has been held annually ever since, and in 2004, it was renamed the Asan Admiral Yi Sun-sin Festival.
