Family Book Festival

The Whole Family Book Festival is the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's representative reading culture festival, held every autumn at Jeongdok Library since 2013. It is designed to provide a venue for families and neighbors to mingle and communicate through books, and to allow people to experience the joy and value of reading in their daily lives through various activities, performances, and exhibitions. In particular, it has evolved into a collaborative festival by bringing together various institutions—such as libraries, lifelong learning centers, local bookstores, and school reading clubs—to operate programs in which citizens and students can participate directly. With a diverse range of programs prepared—including the Whole Family Reading Awards, cultural performances, creative book-related activities, and eco-friendly and traditional culture experiences—it is an event that everyone of all ages can enjoy. It is a meaningful event that offers an opportunity to feel the joy of life and the value of community, going beyond the simple act of reading.
