Goesan Kimjang Festival

The 2026 Goesan Kimjang Festival is a kimchi-making cultural festival held for four days from November 5 to 8, 2026, in the area surrounding the Organic Expo Plaza and Goesan Sports Complex in Goesan-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. It is an event where participants make kimchi themselves using local agricultural products, such as cabbage and clean chili peppers grown in Goesan, as ingredients. Representative programs include "One-Stop Kimjang Making," where participants mix kimchi using pre-reserved pickled cabbage and fillings at the Organic Expo Plaza and take it home, and "Drive-Thru Kimjang," where participants park their vehicles at individual booths within the Goesan Sports Complex, make kimchi, and take home the finished product. The festival also features "Children and Youth Kimjang Experience," where children and teenagers can try making kimchi themselves; "Master's Kimjang Workshop," featuring renowned kimchi masters; and a "World Kimchi Tasting Event," where visitors can sample kimchi from various countries. In addition to this, the festival features major events such as the K-Red Food Street, Grilling Zone, and the Korea Kimjang Contest. Separate from the festival grounds, a ‘Village Kimjang Experience’ is also held throughout the month of November, where participants can make kimchi themselves in villages in the Goesan region.
