The Andong International Mask Dance Festival is a global festival that unites people through the memories of masks and the dance of all. At the festival grounds, visitors can experience and enjoy both Korean mask dance, registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, and mask dances from various countries around the world. Furthermore, the festival plans to offer a venue for everyone to mingle, featuring diverse performances, parades, a grand communal gathering, and the World Mask Dance Competition. The Andong International Mask Dance Festival 2026 seeks to connect the time preserved by masks with our present lives. In the moment when everyone—from children to the elderly, local residents and visitors from around the world—laughs, claps, and shares the rhythm in the same space, the memories conveyed by the masks become a living culture. This festival is a ‘dance for everyone’ completed by the gathering of such connected hearts, and it will be a venue to showcase the power of a community that shines even brighter when together.
